The Community Healing Team (CHT) focuses on public safety, wellness, and encourages one another to thrive. The CHT works on increasing and transforming the current public safety model. The CHT helps community members to process their pain and trauma, learn coping methods, and provides healing spaces.

The purpose is to create a space for historical and intergenerational trauma to be acknowledged and invited to heal.

Our work is rooted in a mental health framework and we know the issues in our communities are systemic, generational and rooted in poverty, oppression, and trauma. Not addressing mental health and the negative impacts of systemic racism for the community is equivalent to putting a band-aid on an open wound.

The Community Healing Team focuses on public wellness and encourage one another to thrive. The CHT helps community members to process their pain and trauma, learn coping methods, and provide healing spaces.

The community Healing Team provides a healing space, specific Indegenous ways of healing and building a movement of people who are both culturally and biologically resilient. We provide these proactive and reactive services through safe circles, community healing gatherings, training sessions and individual supports.
